LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Today, the Angelina County Chamber of Commerce hosted the State of the City luncheon. LMayor Bob Brown addressed the crowd about the future plans for the city of Lufkin.

They touched on the new Capital Improvement Program. Many people in the community gathered to hear about how well 2019 went for the city, also.

They discussed previous deals, new business and the over-all economic growth.

According to the Lukfin Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Tara Watson-Watkins, the community is constantly growing and they will strive to keep everyone involved each step of the way.

“Listening to Mayor Bob talk about everything that is coming is a dream come true for all of us that call Lukfin and the Angelina County are home. There are so many great opportunities that are coming back,” Watson-Watkins says. “We saw Lufkin in its hay-day many, many years ago and we have seen the struggles of what has happen over the last few years in Angelina County. I just think that hope is on the horizon and that we are seeing great things come to fruition.”
