NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - The SFA men’s basketball team is finally hoping to get into a routine and find some rhythm as they enter their Wednesday night contest against Central Arkansas.
The team enters the Wednesday night game with a win over Midwestern State this past Friday. It was just their third game since December 12.
“You know we have just played seven games here in the middle of January,” Keller said. “We usually play 15 by now. We have no rhythm. You only get that playing games. No matter how much you practice you have to get into a rhythm.”
Central Arkansas enters the game at 3-8 on the year and 2-1 in conference.
“I think they have really good players,” Keller said. “It is going to be a struggle for us for sure. They have talented players. They don’t really shoot from the 3-point line. Even though the percentage is high they don’t make as many as they have in the past. They may have the best size overall in our league from two through five. We are going to have our hands full. We have given up more points then we have in the past.”
With SFA expecting the NCAA to grant their request to move up their NCAA postseason ban, Keller is putting pressure on every game.
“We still have the league title to play for,” Keller said. “We can’t afford to lose any games. What people do not realize is that Nicholls State only plays one team on our side which is Sam Houston. If you look deeper, Nicholls doesn’t play, in my opinion are the favorites in our league. They only play Sam. They do not play us or Abilene. This is not a game we can stump our toe with.”
Tip off is set Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.
