AUSTIN, Texas (KTRE) - State Rep. Trent Ashby introduced his broadband bill to the House Committee on State Affairs on Thursday.
Ashby’s HB 5 would create a broadband office at the comptroller of public accounts to pinpoint and address areas of the state with the worst broadband capabilities.
Several people spoke at Thursday’s committee hearing in favor of the bill. Nobody spoke against it.
Ashby is a Republican from Lufkin.
