MEDINA COUNTY, Texas (Gray News) - Three children traveling with their father, who was wanted on several warrants, have been found safe, according to a Texas sheriff’s office.

An Amber Alert issued for 11-year-old Jonathan Wright, 9-year-old Lucas Wright and 8-year-old Ariana Wright has been canceled.

The Medina County Sheriff’s Office said late Sunday night that the three children were recovered safely and are doing well. They were believed to have been traveling with their father, 40-year-old Jonathan Wright. The sheriff’s office says he is now in custody.

Authorities say the father and children were located in a field in the Rio Medina area off CR 366, KSAT reports.

Wright was wanted on multiple warrants out of Mooresville, North Carolina, for sex crimes against minors and will be extradited. His children are not associated with those warrants.

Deputies are working to reunite the children with their mother. The sheriff’s office and other agencies worked together to celebrate Christmas with the children on Dec. 26, according to KSAT.

Authorities had been searching for the children and their father since Dec. 21.
