St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School honors Daylight Savings with special school activity
LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Clocks spring forward this weekend for Daylight Savings Time, and excitement was in the air Thursday for students and teachers at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School in Lufkin.
In honor of the upcoming time change, teachers got together to plan their first Spring Forward Day for students. Kim Flores, a third-grade teacher, said the hour allowed kids to experience a different grade year and give them a taste of what the next school year will look like.
“That was the goal - to get them excited about moving up the next year and looking forward to something,” Flores said.
Adaysha Briggs and her friend Sammy Havard got to test out fourth grade as third graders.
“It was really cool. The teacher was so nice. We read this book about this donkey that had a pebble, and then he wished, and then he turned into a rock for a month,” Briggs said.
Both students said the activity made them excited to move up to their next grade level.
