WHITEHOUSE, Texas (KLTV) - Whitehouse Wildcats got past Hallsville in the game of the week. Here is KLTV’s Michael Coleman with the game ball presentation to coach Kyle Westerberg.
Michael Coleman: “This week our Red Zone Game Ball winner is the Whitehouse Wildcats. This is Coach Kyle Westerberg. And coach. a heck of a game last week: Hallsville, Whitehouse; our game of the week. You made us look good, with the high scoring game and the intensity of that game.”
Coach Westerberg: “It was a high scoring game, very intense. Knew it was going to be that way. They have an electrifying quarterback, he’s very fast, but just knew we had to get a couple of more stops and they did, and I knew we would, and that put us in position to win.”
MC: “It’s obvious from what I just saw, you all put a lot of heart into special teams. Special teams was so key, talk about the blocked punt. I believe Damian, Damian Anderson I believe scored the touchdown on the scoop and score, talk about that aspect of the game.
CW: “You know it’s big and we tell the kids all the time a game can be won and lost on special teams. And anytime you can get a blocked punt, you know it changes the momentum of a game, and when you can get that blocked punt and return it for a touchdown that definitely changes the momentum....That was a huge momentum changer for us, and probably one of the big keys of the game, last Friday night.”
