LUFKIN, TX (KTRE)-  Two new companies may be coming to Lufkin, which would bring hundreds of new job opportunities.

City officials say "Project Imbound" has been in the works for nine months.

According to Jim Wehmeier, Lufkin's economic development director, the project is an imbound technical health company and would bring 400 full time jobs.

The two finalists are Lufkin and a city in northern California.

Officials will know within 30 days if Lufkin is the selected city.

City planners are also in negotiation with an aerospace company.  "Project Aerospace" would bring 100 plus jobs to the area. Lufkin is one of two competing cities. City planners say it may take longer to find out whether or not the company will be coming to Lufkin, since it's a newer project.
