LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A man who was found to have 128 pounds of marijuana hidden in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop pleaded guilty to the crime Tuesday afternoon.
David Rodriguez-Benavides will serve five years of probation and pay a $1,500 fine.
According to a previous report, a DPS trooper said he knew something was wrong during the Dec. 2009 traffic stop when he noticed the wheels on the vehicle had been tampered with. Most of the pot was found in hidden compartments on the wheels.
