LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – Lufkin city firefighters, with the help of Deputy City Manager Keith Wright Thursday morning kicked off the Fill-the-Boot campaign, a program which benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Firefighters will be at various stoplights throughout Lufkin for the next three Fridays taking motorists' donations.

"I enjoy being a part of it," said EMT paramedic Cody Sewell. "It makes me feel maybe that we'll make a difference, and help some kids and people along the way."

Firefighters will have their boots out to accept donations which go to children with muscular dystropy.
