ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - It took 15 minutes for firefighters from four departments to knock down a blaze which destroyed a barn off of FM 1475 Thursday morning.

According to the property owner, Ana Watts, the horses were normally put in the barn in the morning. Fortunately, she did not put them in the barn Thursday.

Moffett Fire Chief Edward Swet said they do not know the cause of the fire and it will be up to Watts' insurance company to determine whether they will investigate further.

Watts said the barn was built in 1998, after the previous barn was destroyed in a tornado.

Watts said a six-week old kitten died in the fire.
