National Signing Day has long passed, but for former Nacogdoches Dragon Jaylon Lane he's got a second chance of playing college ball. The cornerback will now play at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi.
The senior lead his class in East Texas with 37 collegiate offers before it was stripped away after legal troubles.
Lane was verbally committed to play at Oklahoma State, but in November his offer was taken off the table after he was arrested on charges of third-degree felony obstruction/retaliation, a Class A misdemeanor of resisting arrest, and Class B criminal mischief.
The incident steamed from a dispute in the classroom at Nacogdoches high school where he threw a calculator at a teacher, overturned desks, knocked a computer monitor on the floor, and resisted arrest.
We hadn't heard much from Lane since the arrest because after the fall semester, Nacogdoches head football coach Bobby Reyes said Lane went back to San Angelo where he was playing before coming back to Nacogdoches.
