LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - During a revocation of probation hearing Wednesday morning, a 39-year-old Huntington woman who molested a 15-year-old boy at a party accepted a plea deal of 8 years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison.
Janna Michelle Johnson appeared in Judge Bob Inselmann's 217 Judicial District Court, and after she pleaded true to allegations that she violated conditions of her probation back in April. Inselmann approved the deal.
As part of the deal, Johnson is banned from having any contact with the victim once she is released from prison. She will be considered a convicted felon, and she will have to register as a sex offender when she gets out of prison.
Pct. 1 Constable Tom Selman arrested her at the Country Club on US Highway 69 South on Easter Sunday after an acquaintance of Johnson's called in a tip that Johnson was "clubbing" and gave a location. Selman said he found that Johnson had an outstanding revocation of probation warrant for failing to report a change of address and not reporting to her probation officer.
In September 2014, Johnson accepted a plea bargain deal which included a 173 day-stint in the county jail and 10 years of probation in exchange for pleading guilty to a second-degree felony indecency with a child by sexual contact charge.
According to the arrest affidavit for Johnson's initial charge, she committed the crime during a party she threw that involved several teenagers.
The Angelina County Sheriff's Office was contacted by a homeowner on Parker Street, who said while he was out of town on Dec. 21, 2013, Johnson held a party at his house.
The homeowner said there were several teenagers at the party and that one 15-year-old boy told him that Johnson got in bed with him and touched him inappropriately.
Investigators interviewed the alleged victim, as well as the other teenagers who were at the party, who gave consistent statements to the claims.
