Nacogdoches Co. 4th of July brawl breaks out over Confederate flag

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches Sheriff's Office is investigating a brawl that broke out on July 4th at Camp Tonkawa Springs, reportedly over a Confederate flag.

According to a report by the Sheriff's Office, bystanders at the recreation area said an apparently intoxicated while male was waving a Confederate flag and yelling racial slurs that led to a fight.

Two Nacogdoches County deputies responded to the incident. After the crowd dispersed, the victim fled the scene.

No arrests were made, but authorities are looking for the victim.

A video of the incident was posted to Twitter on July 4th, shortly after 4:30 p.m. The video has already been retweeted nearly 4,000 times since it was posted by @Telford_Tyler.  It has also been featured on the popular video blog, "WorldStarHipHop." Although the video was public Sunday, it has since been made private.
