LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man avoided prison time after pleading guilty in the robbery of a man at his shop in June 2014.
Deroy Eric Penson, 24, pleaded guilty to robbery in Judge Bob Inselmann's court. In exchange for the plea, he accepted a 10-year probation sentence.
According to a previous report, Penson and Octavaious Mosby, 24, approached a man in the 1000 block of Shermell Drive with guns and demanded money.
One of the two used a stun gun on the victim. The victim then gave them his money and one of the suspects got money out of the victim's vehicle.
Both were caught in the vicinity of Atkinson Drive and the Loop 287 intersection.
Mosby pleaded guilty to the crime on Oct. 13, accepting an eight-year probation sentence.
