HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Houston County Sheriff's Office have arrested an Alto woman accused of hurting her 12-year-old daughter while playing a "beer game" with her and a 14-year-old girl Friday in Weches.
Samantha Leann Starkey, 30, is charged with state-jail felony injury to a child and misdemeanor B furnish alcohol to a minor.
According to the arrest affidavit, a deputy was dispatched to the 600 block of County Road 1200 at 9:40 p.m. The deputy said Starkey's 12-year-old daughter said they were all in a detached garage playing a beer game when Starkey got into an argument with someone and tried to leave with her three-year-old daughter. The 12-year-old said she tried to stop her from leaving and Starkey pushed her, then grabbed her hair and began pulling it. The 12-year-old said she cut her leg on the porch while trying to get away from Starkey.
A 14-year-old said she witnessed the incident and tried to sit down in a chair but fell off the porch area and hurt her leg, due to her being highly intoxicated. She said Starkey had provided her with some alcohol during the beer game.
