LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A suspicious vehicle report resulted in a Lufkin Police officer making a meth arrest Sunday afternoon.
Wesley Chase Tidwell, 21, of Diboll, is still being held in the Angelina County jail on a third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance charge, a Class C misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia charge, two Class C misdemeanor failure to appear charges, and a Class C misdemeanor public intoxication charge. Collectively, Tidwell's bail amount has been set at $7,000.
According to the Lufkin Police Department's daily activity report, the arrest occurred at about 1:40 p.m. Sunday. After the suspicious vehicle report, an LPD officer pulled Tidwell's Chevrolet Avalanche over in the 100 block of Hubbard Street.
When the officer realized that Tidwell had an outstanding warrant, he arrested the Diboll man. A search of Tidwell revealed that he had methamphetamine in his pants pocket, the report stated.
