LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Lufkin Police Department arrested a 46-year-old man Thursday afternoon after he allegedly attacked his brother with a butcher knife.
Miguel Angel Mijares, of Lufkin, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a first-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. No bail amount has been set at this time.
According to the Lufkin Police Department's daily activity report, the incident occurred at about 2:26 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the 200 block of Texas Boulevard.
Mijares allegedly charged his brother with a butcher knife. According to the activity report, the brother told an LPD officer that Mijares had been drinking heavily all day and that he and his brother had just gotten into an argument because he thought Mijares had sold his extension cord for beer money.
