NEWTON COUNTY, TX - Officers with the Newton County Sheriff's Department have discovered a car near Bon Wier, which they believe could contain the body of a man who was recently reported missing in the area.
Newton County Sheriff Billy Rowles said the car and the body were discovered shortly before 4:00 on Friday afternoon just off of Highway 190.
Rowles said the car was located based on information that had been obtained in an investigation that had been going on for several days.
The investigation began earlier this month when the family of Keandrea Markell Jones, 23, of Bon Wier reported that they had not seen or heard from him since late October of last year.
Rowles said that even though he and others believe the remains to be Keandre Markell Jones, that an official ruling or identity has not been made pending further investigation and an autopsy.
