NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The body of a 52-year-old man was found Sunday morning in Scoggins Lake.
Officials responded to the call around 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the Scoggins Lake, located off County Road 392 in Nacogdoches County.
Authorities continued to search for the body Saturday and found it around 7:45 a.m. Sunday.
Game Warden of Nacogdoches County Sean Reneau said a 52-year-old black man and mother, 83, were fishing when somehow they hit a stump and both fell in the water.
Authorities said the man saved the mother but that he may have drowned in the process.
The identity of the man has not been released at this time.
