NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - One person was injured when a passenger car collided with an 18-wheeler, and both vehicles rolled over on State Highway 103 near Etoile Monday.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper John Riggins said the 18-wheeler, a 2018 Freightliner with a trailer, was heading east when a westbound 2011 Chevrolet passenger car driven by Favian Cordero, 20, of Lufkin, veered into its lane and struck it. Both vehicles rolled over.

Cordero was alert after the wreck, and he was taken to a Nacogdoches hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured in the crash.

A tweet by the Texas Department of Transportation's Lufkin office that was sent out at 2:15 p.m. stated that all lanes of SH 103 East in Etoile are now open. The wreck has been cleared.

DPS, the Etoile Fire Department, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, and Pct. 4 Constable David Stone responded to the wreck.

The wreck is still under investigation.
