Nacogdoches police: Man struck by pickup while he was jogging on loop

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A man suffered minor injuries when a vehicle struck him while he was jogging on Northeast Stallings Drive Sunday morning, according to the Nacogdoches Police Department.

The driver allegedly fled the scene without stopping to render aid to the man.

According to the Nacogdoches Police Department's daily activity report, the alleged hit-and-run incident occurred at about 6:17 a.m. Sunday morning.

Sgt. Greg Sowell, a spokesman for the Nacogdoches Police Department, said that NPD officers spoke to the victim at a hospital. The man told the officers that he was jogging in the 3200 block of Northeast Stallings Drive near the entrance of a residential neighborhood Sunday morning when he was struck by the bumper of a pickup.

"The truck left the scene without stopping," Sowell said. "The description was given as possibly a red single cab Chevrolet pickup."

Sowell said the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.
