JASPER, TX (KTRE) - A travel trailer fire that occurred in Jasper Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of the man who was living in it.
According to a post on the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department Facebook page, JVFD firefighters responded to a 911 call about a house fire on Carlton Street at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
When they got to the scene, they found that a small travel trailer was fully engulfed in flames.
The post said that the man living in the trailer did not get out, and he was pronounced dead at the scene after the Jasper VFD firefighters put the fire out, the Facebook post stated.
A clerk with the Precinct 2 justice of the peace office said the man has been identified as Michael Messer, 43.
"Please keep the family and friends of the deceased in prayer," the Facebook post stated.
