NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested a 40-year-old woman Tuesday in connection to allegations that she broke a bottle over another woman's head and then cut the victim with a piece of jagged glass from the bottle.
Laquinta Comille Black, of Nacogdoches, was booked into the Nacogdoches County jail on a second-degree aggravated assault charge. She was released from the jail Tuesday after she paid an unspecified bail amount.
According to the arrest affidavit, a woman showed up at the Nacogdoches Police Department on August 13 to report an assault. At the time, she was bleeding from wounds to her face and upper body.
The alleged victim told police that just before she went to the police department, Black hit her in the head with a bottle, the affidavit stated.
"From the visible wounds, it appeared that after the bottle busted over [the victim's] head, Laquinta cut [the victim] in the upper body in several places with the jagged glass," the affidavit stated.
The alleged victim told police that she "somewhat blacked out" after she was struck in the head. She said that she didn't remember the cuts to her upper body, the affidavit stated.
The Nacogdoches PD detective that obtained the arrest warrant interviewed a witness that backed up what the victim said about the assault, the affidavit stated.
