ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested a partially nude man early Thursday morning after he allegedly attacked a woman and a husband in a laundry room and then kicked and hit one of the ACSO deputies who was trying to arrest him.
Cecil James Hicks, 54, of Lufkin, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a third-degree felony assault of a public servant charge, two Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury charges, and a Class A misdemeanor resisting arrest charge.
Collectively, Hicks' bond amount was set at $4,500 for the three misdemeanor charges. No bond amount has been set for his felony charge yet.
According to the Angelina County Sheriff's Office daily activity report, ACSO deputies were dispatched out to a trailer park laundry room in the 1000 block of Benton Drive at about 2:09 a.m. Thursday.
"A woman washing laundry in a trailer park laundry room was attacked by a resident of the park and beaten," the report stated. "Upon hearing her screams, the woman's husband tried to intervene but was also beaten by the suspect."
When the deputies got to the scene, they located the "partially nude" suspect outside his residence. The man, who was later identified as Hicks, said he would shoot them, folded his hands and fingers like a gun, pointed at the deputies, and said, "Bang bang bang," the report stated.
At first, the ACSO deputies were unable to subdue Hicks, and a deployed taser device had no apparent effect on him, the report stated.
"Suspect kicked and assaulted a deputy during the arrest process and continued to resist deputies until he was finally transported to jail," the report stated. "[The] initial victims were transported to the hospital, injuries treated, and released."
