CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) - A Houston County grand jury has indicted a 33-year-old in connection to a stabbing incident that left two people injured back in July.
Maurice O'Bryant Peterson, of Crockett, was among the 17 people indicted by the Houston County grand jury. He was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon by threat.
According to the Crockett Police Department, Peterson turned himself in on July 7.
Two people were stabbed in the 100 block of Barnhill in Crockett at about 9:45 a.m. on July 6, a press release stated. Peterson allegedly fled the scene of the stabbing on foot before police officers arrived.
The two victims were transported to a trauma center for treatment of their injuries.
