ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - While some counties are experiencing extreme drought conditions, an Angelina County game warden said the county's conditions are rather normal.
According to Phillip Wood, water levels in Deep East Texas are standard for this time of year.
Despite concerns, he said he's seen worse during his game warden career.
"The drought conditions here at Sam Rayburn reservoir are pretty much standard for this time of year," Wood said. "We've been blessed with a little bit of rain, so it's not as bad as in years passed. But we could always use a little bit more rain."
Wood said the last time the county received extreme low drought conditions was in 2011.
