Sheriff: Man arrested, charged with murder in Houston County shooting

HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Houston County Sheriff's Office say they arrested a man and charged him with murder Sunday.
According to a press release from the sheriff's office, investigators with the Houston County Sheriff's Office responded to a deer camp on CR 2175 in a rural area of northwest Houston County early Sunday in reference to a reported shooting.
Deputies say they found 51 year Edward Perez of Houston, Texas deceased from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
63-year old Joe Fernandez told law enforcement he had shot Perez with his 40-caliber Smith and Wesson handgun.
Fernandez was arrested and transported to the Houston County jail.
