LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - An officer with the Lufkin Police Department arrested a 25-year-old man Wednesday afternoon for drug possession after the officer allegedly found him passed out under a slide at a park.

Jerry Lee Prather Jr., of Lufkin, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a Class B misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance less than two ounces charge. His bond amount has been set at $1,500.

According to the Lufkin Police Department's daily activity report, an LPD officer found Prather passed out under the slide at Mantooth Park at about 12:41 p.m. on Wednesday.

Prather allegedly told the officer, "I'm smoking K2 because I'm trying to get a job, so I can't smoke marijuana."

When the officer searched Prather, they found a small, clear plastic baggy containing K2, the report stated.
