Lufkin Police Report - 11/27/07

THEFT/C: 500 BLOCK OF SOUTH CHESTNUT. A man was seen stealing two DVD movies from a store Monday evening.  The suspect left the scene in a gray four door car.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE: 1500 BLOCK OF MARTIN LUTHER KING. Complainant reported that his red 1997 Honda Accord was stolen from the parking lot of Jones Park Sunday or Monday.

ASSAULT/C: 1200 BLOCK OF EAST DENMAN. A mother reported that her 12 year old son shoved her hand away from him during an argument Monday afternoon.  The mother wanted to file assault charges because the juvenile has been acting up recently.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS: 100 BLOCK OF NORTH TIMBERLAND. A known suspect was seen on store property Monday afternoon after having been warned not to return to the property due to past problems with him panhandling and bothering customers.  Charges pending.

THEFT/FELONY: 1600 BLOCK OF LILAC. A small trailer with a green Kawasaki ATV on it was stolen from a residence Monday morning.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 400 BLOCK OF NORTH TIMBERLAND DRIVE. Complainant reported that a front window was broken out on a vacant business Monday.

BURGLARY/VEHICLE: 300 NORTH MEDFORD DRIVE. Complainant reported that a variety of hand tools were stolen from the toolbox of a work truck sometime Sunday night.

 ASSAULT/A: 300 BLOCK OF COUSART STREET. Complainant reported that she was choked by her common-law husband during an argument Monday morning.  The victim had no visible injuries.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING: 600 BLOCK OF EAST LUFKIN AVENUE. A known suspect tried to register a vehicle using a forged insurance card.  The suspect stated he was trying to register his aunt's car for her using papers she gave him.

THEFT/A: 2300 BLOCK OF EAST DENMAN AVENUE. Complainant reported that 18 tires had been stolen from a storage area sometime within the past two weeks.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING: 2500 BLOCK OF DANIEL MCCALL. A man and woman tried to make two separate purchases Sunday using two fake traveler's checks.  The man was able to make a purchase with the fake check early Sunday morning.  The woman, believed to be his wife, was not able to pass the fake traveler's she had when she returned later in the day.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 500 BLOCK OF PERSHING AVENUE. Complainant reported that a window had been broken out with a piece of metal on the Rock House Community Center at Chambers Park.
