Tax season is here and we have some information you'll find helpful. Even though the IRS doesn't open their doors until the 11th, H & R Block has already seen a few clients. Tax filers should have the appropriate paperwork, including W2 forms, driver's license and social security number. Be prepared, because there are some changes. The biggest change involves the Alternative Minimum Tax Patch. If you have certain credits like the Education or Daycare Credit it will delay your return. The IRS won't start accepting those until February 11th.
"The Education Credit is for those tax payers who are going to school. They're getting the whole credit of the Lifetime Learning Credit and you get a deduction for that on your tax return," said senior tax advisor, Anne Parks.
