Angelina County Sheriff's Captain Not Liable for Charges

Karissa Hopson sued Capt. Tony Galloway for an incident that happened in 2006. That's when Hopson's mother turned her daughter into the sheriff's department for a warrant that was out.

While the mother was inside talking to authorities, Hopson had cut herself with a razor blade. Authorities tried to get Hopson out of the car, that's when Galloway says he only tried to take the razor blade away from Hopson when he broke her finger.

Capt. Tony Galloway, said, "Evidence was extremely clear.  I hadn't done anything to violate the lady's civil rights. We were just trying to protect her, and she had a razor blade in that her finger got broke."

Hopson remains in the jail charged with theft, criminal mischief, and aggravated assault against a police officer, for a different case.
