Power of Prayer: East Texas pastor guided spiritual healing after America’s first mass shooting in a church

As a junior, she still has more than a year left of school and a lot of learning left to do. Makayla explains she plans on applying for extended foster care in Texas, allowing her more time to transition into adulthood and more time to find a family who can commit to her for a lifetime.

“The Hispanic, they have different struggles. They feel alone and they miss family. So, we’re here to be a family for them, to be a church that is for the community, for the one who is alone, for the one who is having a tough time and missing family. We want them to feel the love of Jesus through the church,” Pastor Fernando Mangieri said. The services take place every Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Crosswalk Center at Green Acres Baptist Church.

President and CEO of the Angelina Chambers of Commerce Tara Watkins said the event will start September 14, until Sunday, September 17. Watkins said there will be plenty of entertainment, which includes a butterfly encounter, the Pirates of the Carribean high diving adventure team, and more.
