The Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Co., is having teams collect data from the total solar eclipse stationed at the center line of totality on April 8. Leticia Ferrer, the northeast Texas coordinator for the project, said they are looking for teams of three or more near Wills Point and Sulphur Springs to complete their line.
The BNS Railroad layout took Bauer a year to build, and he said it came directly from his own mind. The city-scape is an homage to the original larger layout, and it contains nods to the Steves as well. A yellow and black diesel that belonged to Hocum can be spotted making its rounds, and an engineer’s uniform was donated by Gatton’s wife, Bauer said.
Dennis Weimer with Nomads Tactical said, “A lot of people that live in the country think they can just go out and shoot, not realizing how far bullets really go. If you do not have a significant backstop to stop the bullet, it’s going to travel a long way. So you need to know where you are shooting safely.”
Alvin McKnight, Jr. was arrested for the murders of Mandy Ray and Dermetrica Dashaunda Waters. McKnight was captured in California on November 15. On Tuesday, McKnight was flown from California directly to Gregg County. He is being held without bond in the Upshur County Jail.
