Board OKs lease agreement for Nacogdoches hospitals

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches County Hospital Board approved the lease agreement this morning between Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital (NMH) & the Nacogdoches Medical Center (NMC).

Memorial Hospital will now become a campus of Nacogdoches Medical Center while under a 15-year lease by Tenet Healthcare.

The board voted in favor unanimously after around an hour in executive session.

Employees from Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital have not been told if their employment is being terminated or renewed, however they they do have the option to resign or decline if asked.

NMH CEO Rhonda McCabe said that Tenet has ensured they’re committed to transitioning as many employees as they can, and will keep employees updated as information unfolds.

The timeline is based on a few key factors, and until those are handled behind the scenes there is no word on when employees will get that information.
