TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Tyler running back CaDarius McMiller rushed for 326 yards and four touchdowns on 46 carries Friday night as Tyler defeated cross-town rival Legacy 62-42 at Rose Stadium.

McMiller has committed to Oregon, a school ranked in the top 10.

“I watched that game. I had to watch that game. Yeah, it started off a little slow, but they got it done, they’ll be back harder next week,” McMiller said.

Coach cites run game

Tyler’s run game totaled more than 500 yards in the win.

“I did not think we would run the football that much during my 10 year here. That’s why you just never know. That’s why you play the game,” Tyler head football coach Rashaun Woods said.

McMiller said he does not mind carrying the ball as often as he did.

“I don’t be worried about it. Be asking them for the ball. Shoot, I’m glad they gave me the ball that many times, so that I can show that I can tote the ball that many times, that they can depend on me if they need to,” McMiller said.

Offensive line adjusts

Tyler offensive lineman KeLynn Merrick said blocking for McMiller was rewarding.

“It is something, it’s really something, like he’s fast. He can run down the field fast. He might run a 60-yard touchdown, and we be in the end zone running with him. No matter what, we’re right behind him,” Merrick said.
