EAST TEXAS POLITICS: State party chairs weigh in as first week of early voting wraps up
Texas Democratic Party Chair Kendall Scudder and Republican Party Chair D’rinda Randall join Blake Holland for this week’s show
TYLER, Texas (KLTV) -Texas Democratic Party Chair Kendall Scudder and Texas Republican Party Chair D’rinda Randall join Blake Holland on this week’s edition of East Texas Politics on East Texas Now as the first week of early voting wraps up ahead of the November midterm elections.
Democrats have not won a Senate election in Texas since 1988. No Democrat has won a statewide election since Bob Bullock in 1994. Holland asks Scudder what’s different in this election, specifically when it comes to the marquee matchup between Ken Paxton and James Talarico in the race for U.S. Senate.
Holland also asks both chairs to react to the fact that there have been no debates in the major races, while also asking Randall what effect visits from President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance have on the outcomes.
