East Texas (KLTV/KTRE) - Good morning, East Texas! It is another quiet and cool morning with partly to mostly cloudy skies as temperatures mainly sit in the 50s and low 60s this AM. Some light rain will be possible overhead today, though the air in place is quite dry, not just at the surface but higher up in the atmosphere as well, which will evaporate most of the rain before it makes it to the ground. Still, you may notice the occasional raindrop or sprinkle make its way to your windshield early today, though no impacts are expected to your commute. Upper-level clouds will continue to come and go today, leading to similar sky conditions since Sunday. Temperatures will remain above average this week as most continue to warm into the lower 80s this afternoon, as well as the next few days to come. A weak disturbance could bring a very low-end chance for a shower or two tomorrow, mainly for our western and southwestern counties, but coverage for any type of rain appears low at this time. Thursday will likely trend mostly dry as well, but shower chances will begin to slowly increase starting on Friday. Rain is still on the table for Saturday (Halloween), and while severe weather does not look likely at this time, scattered showers certainly looks to be a possibility throughout the day so you’ll want to keep a close eye on the forecast as we fine-tune the potential timing and placement for Saturday’s rain. Rain coverage looks to diminish through Saturday night, and Sunday will likely only bring a low-end chance for showers throughout the day. Persistent cloud cover will keep high temperatures in the 70s for Friday and Saturday in most locations, then the lower 80s are back again on Sunday and Monday. Thankfully, there are still signs that our next cold front could arrive sometime next Tuesday, knocking highs back down into the 70s and closer to “normal” for the middle of next week!
