Lufkin Crime Stoppers subject arrested after anonymous tip
LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police have arrested a man featured on Lufkin Crime Stoppers' Crime of the Week.
According to the report, police learned through an anonymous tip that Elroy Edwards Jr., 60, of Lufkin, was at a residence on the 900 block of Camp Street at 6:43 p.m. Monday.
Officers managed to locate Edwards and arrest him.
Police have had a warrant out for Edwards since Aug. 18, 2011, following an undercover investigation into him allegedly selling nine grams of cocaine to a confidential informant.
He is charged with first-degree delivery of a controlled substance and misdemeanor A failure to identify.
According to the Crime Stoppers website, Edwards identified himself as Robert Edwards the last time police encountered him.
As of 10:30 a.m. Monday, a bond had not yet been set for his release from the Angelina County Jail.
