NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -
Acting on a report of suspicious activity in the
area, Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested two East Texas men
for possession of a controlled substance Wednesday after they searched a
residence on Muller Street and allegedly found methamphetamine, marijuana, and
other items.
Raul Alvarez, 25, and Samuel Hale, 25, both of
Nacogdoches, are still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on charges of
possession of a controlled substance between 4 and 28 grams, a second-degree
felony, and possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, a Class B misdemeanor.
No bonds have been set at this time.
According to a press release from the Nacogdoches
Sheriff's Office, a narcotics seizure earlier in February provided deputies
with additional information and drug activity in that part of Nacogdoches.
Nacogdoches County Sheriff Jason Bridges said his
deputies conducted surveillance on the house and observed what they believed to
be drug transactions occurring in front of the home. The deputies also spotted
the suspects allegedly smoking marijuana inside the residence and they made
contact with the home's owner.
Deputies obtained consent to search the residence
and found 9 grams of crystal methamphetamine, several grams of marijuana,
numerous packaging material, digital scales, and marijuana smoking pipes scattered
throughout the residence.
