Lufkin Christmas parade set for Tuesday evening kickoff

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The annual Lufkin Christmas parade is still underway for Tuesday night as rain chances fade.

The parade was originally set for Saturday night, but was moved to Tuesday as chances of inclement weather swept through the area. The event is set to kick off at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Road closures for the parade route began Tuesday afternoon. A map of the route can be seen below.

Road Closures and Staging Details for the Lufkin Christmas Parade

Lufkin, Texas – December 9, 2024 – As we prepare for the rescheduled Lufkin Christmas Parade on Tuesday, December 10th, here are essential details regarding road closures, float staging, and parking restrictions to ensure a smooth and timely event.

1. Road Closures

Road closures along the parade route will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 10th.

2. Float Staging

Float staging will also begin at 1:00 PM.

At 5:00 PM, all floats should be in place and staged for the parade.

3. Parking Restrictions

Cars parked along the parade route will be towed starting at 3:30 PM. Vehicles will be relocated to Louis Bronaugh Park for retrieval.

To avoid towing, please do not park along the parade route after 3:00 PM.

4. Downtown Parking Advisory

Downtown businesses and residents are kindly asked to avoid parking along the parade route after 3:00 PM.

Your cooperation is critical to ensuring the parade begins on time and runs smoothly for our community to enjoy.

5. Parade Start Time

The parade is scheduled to begin promptly between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM, but this depends on the streets being fully cleared by Lufkin PD.
