GAINES COUNTY, Texas (KCBD) - A Hobbs woman died after a rollover in Gaines County Sunday evening.

Around 4 p.m., troopers responded to the crash at CR 251 and CR 210, just west of Seminole.

Crash investigators say 71-year-old Cheryl Baxley was driving east on CR 210, approaching the intersection at CR 251, when she ran a stop sign and struck a mound of dirt causing the vehicle to go airborne.

Baxley’s car rolled several times before it caught fire. She was ejected from the vehicle where she died at the scene of the crash.

DPS reports she was not wearing a seatbelt. The crash remains under investigation.
