EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - The winds have shifted back to the southeast, which will lead to more clouds and more humidity returning to our part of the state in the days ahead. This will lead to milder overnight lows while daytime highs remain in the lower-to-middle 80’s for much of this week.

With a ridge of high pressure breaking down, we will see mid-and-high level clouds stream over Texas this week as western storm systems nudge closer to our region. Even though we will likely not see much, if any, rain through Thursday, the passing clouds will be of note to keep our highs a few degrees lower.

We will then be looking at the sub-tropical jet stream set up over Texas late this week, heading into Halloween this weekend. This will lead to rain chances making a return to east Texas.

An approaching disturbance riding the upper-level winds over Texas will bring back a 40% chance of rain for late Friday before those odds go up to 60% on Friday night and continue during the day at times on Saturday.

We do not anticipate a washout on Halloween, but the odds for rain during the day are better than they have been in over a few weeks. We will have more clarity on the timing of our end of week rain prospects as we progress throughout the week.

Outside of our rain chances coming back into play this weekend, temperatures look to stay on the mild side with no notable cold fronts on the horizon through at least early next week.
