Angelina County justice of the peace pleads no contest to abuse of official capacity

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - An Angelina County law enforcement official pleaded no contest to official oppression on Friday.

Angelina County Justice of the Peace Pct 2 Donald Puckett, 74, of Lufkin, was arrested by the Texas Rangers on a charge of abuse of official capacity, between $750 and $2,500. This is a class A misdemeanor.

Puckett pleaded no contest in Judge Todd Kassaw’s court on Friday to the charge. He paid a fine of $2,290 and was released from jail.
